About Astha

'Astha' means trust

We're building the mental health companion Bangladesh deserves — one that speaks your language, respects your privacy, and treats you like a person, not a case file.

Why we're building this

In Bangladesh, seeing a psychologist often means months of waiting, travel, stigma and money you don't have — while the reels keep scrolling and the nights keep getting longer. Astha exists to close that gap: licensed human care when you need it, a patient AI companion when 2 a.m. feels endless, and small daily wins that add up to real change.

How it started

Astha began at BUET, where our founders saw friends — brilliant students — quietly drowning in exam pressure, doomscrolling and silence. We asked a simple question: what if caring for your mind were as easy, warm and normal as chatting with a friend? The answer became an app with a little penguin named Irisha at its heart.
